Lemmings is the obvious choice
I just updated and it gave me an error on jerboa but it still seems to be working fine
If that happens word gets out and people switch and currently the instances ran by the OG tankies are actively trying to dissuade people from joining.
The project is open source and anyone can create instances, that’s why its irrelevant.
How does anyone do anything with a migraine? I literally feel like Im going to die from them.
You can do the same on windows! I forgot it was a feature tbh its weird not having the top of my browser lol
Just deleted my account.
Not when they disable ad blockers like twitch
We need a ELI5 post pinned about how lemmy works that DOESNT cover how lemmy works, just dumbs it down enough for the average mainstream normie.
I am the OP lol, but I think I may have just worded it weirdly. I just meant that no matter what page you are viewing, new posts appear and pushes existing posts down.
It is a bug, when scrolling your top posts, you are not supposed to see new posts as well its supposed to be only top posts.
The issue is explaining it to them like that, just tell them the instance that you use or is the most popular one that is not shit, and when they go to the site, they will see the sign up button and they can join and learn from there. After joining an instance you can mostly use lemmy the same way as reddit, I already got my brother and gf to join and they are about as “normie” as it gets.
Thats how I am with my skyrim mods community, I even have mod authors of very large and respected mods hanging out over there, its a bit overwhelming
Most likely yeah, Ive noticed that the my posts and stuff seem like they take forever to post on my end but if I refresh the page it always posts instantly
I’m aware, With this new article it seems they are going to become much more aggressive with ads and I expect them to get rid of old.reddit in the future to force even more ads on people with this change.
And that’s why they will get rid of old.reddit. If they are cutting third party apps to increase ad revenue, then they will do the same with old.reddit
Oh hell fucking no, if they start doing that reddit is for sure dead
Yeah thats a better way to put it, I keep forgetting than lemmy is like 2 or 3 years old already!
Basically yeah
