Don’t know if that helps you - here in Europe it doesn’t look better. In all countries you can choose between the crazy, the stupid and the as-always. I‘m afraid the politics machine transforms you in one of those or scares away the motivated.

Die Sachen der Beziehungsuche würde ich nach der Klärung mit den Warzen angehen. Sonst schwirrt das immer bei dir im Hinterkopf rum und du hast irgendwie Angst intimer und zärtlich zu werden. Geh lieber unbeschwerter auf andere Menschen zu 😊

Um mal beim Beispiel ArchitektIn zu bleiben: Ist es denn zu viel verlangt, dass diese einen Küchen- oder Lagerjob annehmen? Kann man denn nicht erst mal etwas arbeiten, dabei auch die Sprache learning-by-doing lernen und anschließend sich hocharbeiten?
So sehr ich verstehe, dass man nicht unter seinen Potentialen bleiben möchte, so wenig verstehe ich, dass man nicht froh ist, seinen Arsch gerettet zu haben. Und dann dafür auch mal mit etwas unter seinem Niveau anfängt und sich später hocharbeitet.
5·1 month agoIf you just need the energy for the pool, a small setup without battery is all you need. Saves you half the price. Panels and inverters are around 900€ in Germany. Putting a battery on it makes another 1,200€ and it makes sense only, if you need power in the evening.
2525·2 months agoI don’t get it. For me it seems like „it’s not 100% the best way, so you have to stop it.“ Sure, a car-free, equal society that treats nature as family is the way to go. But why do they try to kill the first movers? Because Elon Musk is a weirdo? Why not stopping the coal diggers a few kilometers to the east? Or the chemical plants to the south first? That’s such a brain fuck.

My IT setup to get control of my daughter’s not-yet-rocketed-addiction is: screentime from Apple (that can be circumvented), seperated wifi for teens with on/off times (still they can use mobile network), blocked ip‘s for insta & tiktok at router level (still not all IPs in there), and a hacker-style tool called Firewalla to monitor and control their traffic with porn, youth filter-block ability (also in the router, but not sure how well this works at eg youtube)
For this setup you need some steps beyond standard IT knowhow. And still it’s only 95%. Some day they find how to get through the little holes.
Oh, this effort for 3-4 hrs screen time a day including podcasts and whatsapp.
Next step will be to separate devices. She wants a new phone for birthday. Then we put Spotify for the podcasts on the old phone and block everything else. The new phone for the rest with even more reduced screen time.

I can’t underwrite your „almost everyone is poor“ I’ve been in countries where families live in houses out of cardbox. Kids with just one leg. Girls being sold. In Europe is nobody poor! If you write this, it’s a slap in the face of the poor in the south.
Ah okay. So, Sweden managed to iron the glassfloor to the top. It isn’t possible for standard and even top performers to get to the 1% as they will always rely income with high taxation for a living. With this perspective my country (Germany) seems to be hard but it might be possible.
I‘m not sure how GDP is measured for an international company such as Google. Does the entire Revenue count cos the HQ sits in the US? Or is the license fees that it pays to Bahama‘s (in order to avoid taxes) is substracted from the US GDP? Does somebody know how that is measured?
