In short:
There have been multiple sightings of a cassowary in Queensland’s Gulf Savannah, more than 150 kilometres from its usual habitat.
Southern cassowaries typically live in dense tropical rainforests and woodlands with many fruiting trees in Papua New Guinea and Far North Queensland.
What’s next?
Queensland’s Environment Department says it has no plans to relocate the bird, but encourages residents to continue reporting sightings.

I hate when giant flightless birds saunter up to me and baffle me with their difficult questions. Like dude, I don’t know what the square root of negative pi is! I don’t even know if that’s a thing! And you’re a bird, so what do you care?!
