I still watch Solo with my annual star wars watchthrough. Is it a great film? No. But it’s fun, and it’s light, and if doing a timeline watchthrough it works well. Ep 3 just ends, you’re feeling down because of the empire, but Solo brings you back up - right before the very very sad Rogue One
That’s always been there though, every time I install Firefox I have to disable that and Pocket. Linux, Windows, Mobile, all of them.
They better mean again
Oh my god why do people think cars retain their value? They depreciate immediately when you drive them off the lot. Cars are not houses people, they do not appreciate in value.
Power bill went up by $15 a month. Gas bill went down by $140.
“I mean sure most of my driving is only to work and back and I could install a charger at home to charge once a week, but what if I need to drive from Chicago to Dallas?” Uh, you could rent a car? Or like most Americans you probably have… 2 cars? Take the other one?
That’s when I use my ICE vehicle, or rent one for the longer journeys. but 99% of all my driving is in city and I charge at home - so it’s really a non-issue.
God I hate the moving argument, the once a year thing. Yeah once a year I need something large from Home Depot. They have trucks I can rent literally there on site, or I go to the uhaul and rent one for $30 for the entire day. That’s not “manly” though to them
I agree to a point, I think some people would pick up the development. Idk if it’d be librewolf or if someone would fork off that, but if Firefox completely shit the bed I think someone would pick up the mantle a bit. We wouldn’t have nearly the release cadence of firefox though.
Rogue one and andor were amazing. Which tells me, Star wars can be great if they hire passionate directors/writers and stay the hell out of their way
Entire tech industry is stupid right now. So many business bros trying to pump and dump for short term profits. Gamers specifically are already noticing the lack in quality over the last couple of years, and it’s only going to get worse. Fuck those companies, they just want to funnel the money to their shareholders.
Doesn’t anyone just want to run a business anymore?
I keep reading shit like that, Gas was too expensive, thanks Biden! Just shifting blame left and right. And hey, I come from the midwest where gas is essential because everything is so goddamn far apart - but I drove a civic.
Oh I’m so sorry you went out, spent way too much on a giant truck, bragged to all your friends how you just have to have a hemi/cummins, did everything you could to reduce efficiency, and now you have to spend even more on gas? What a shame. Just, such a shame.
You don’t want to even do a tiny bit of introspection there? I drive an EV now, and they just rage that for a full “fill up” I spend $6. Total. My monthly travel bill (when not riding transit) is now about $15.
I hit a weird depression last year, where I was laid off and was very melancholy. I was missing the UK for some reason and feeling general wanderlust, probably because I was stuck at home and couldn’t go anywhere or do anything. So I fell head first into… Jane Austen. As a man, it was honestly a lot of fun. I watched Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Becoming Jane (outlier I know), and honestly I loved a BBC only version of Northanger Abbey starring Felicity Jones and the Onion Knight from GoT.
Looking back, as a male, I don’t think I was dealing with my emotions well, and this was funnily enough a great outlet for me, where I could be extremely overly emotional while working through my anger and depression. It was… fun, in a way, wallowing in that, my SO and I watched movies like that every night for a week. Sometimes you just feel… sad. And you keep feeling sad until you’re not
oh they’re full on corpo now it sounds like, which is too bad. They should have gone the proton route and go full non-profit org controlled, but here we are.
I’ve been using librewolf over the last week. Honestly… It’s a drop in replacement for me
Yeah adblock plus said the same thing. A lot of companies have said the same thing. It always comes down to greed
Felicity Jones is my favorite actress, and I’ve been waiting for this for a while. It honestly sounds really good, and from the results of the film festival it sounds like it delivers. Definitely excited for it. Backed by A24 just shows also it’s probably going to be great
Fully agree with you for that last bit (and the rest but especially your spoiler). Such a waste.
