Abso-friggen-lutely. But don’t forget that blahajs need a special diet so if you want to share a cup with them, you need something like this: (100% vegan and alcohol-free as well. AND zero calories!)

I have 20k followers and no option to turn off ads except the thing mentioned above, which only swaps ad types. But it might be different for people who have monetized their channels, which I don’t have and never will.
Even better would have been an option to turn them off entirely =P but that’s what UBlock Origin is for.
As someone with a youtube channel and regular uploads … fuck ads. Use uBlock Origin, Adblock Plus or whatever else works to wipe that garbage off the screen.
I’m extra sour about their suuuuuper useful new-ish option for content creators to turn off personalized ads in their channels - something I immediatly agreed to, because I thought it would, … y’now … get rid of the fucking ads.
Nope. All it does is swap “personalized” ads for “unpersonalized” ones, so my followers get the same type of garbage shoved into their faces, just more random. Thanks Youtube, this is exactly what I wanted to achieve. dripping sarcasm, in case it wasn’t obvious
big pair of chopsticks to flip deep-frying stuff,
100% this. I have a pair of metal chopsticks that I use exclusively for frying food, especially small, super sticky stuff like nan gua bing. Most wooden ones here (Germany) have some sort of artificial coating and I’m a bit worried about it melting or releasing chemicals when it gets too hot, so I don’t want to dunk these into hot oil.
Huh…ok, this is indeed weird then. I was able to remove an inactive mod from one of my own communities with that method just fine a while ago … maybe the most recent update changed (or glitched) something about the process?
Sorry I couldn’t be of more help here.
Are you trying to interact with a post while looking at a list of posts in the community, or did you actually open / click on the post first? Only the latter works. The menu is sadly well-hidden and counter-intuitive.
EDIT:
Looking at the list of posts: no mod option
Opening the post and then clicking on the same menu again: mod options availiable. MelodiousFunk is not a mod, so there is no actual “remove as mod” option in that drop-down menu, but the removal option should be in that exact same place for you and your inactive mod.
If that person has made a post or comment in that community then you can open said post / comment, click on the little 3-dot-menu, and select “remove as mod”.
This does not work on comments / posts in other communities or when the old mod simply didn’t interact. Currently it is the only option AFAIK.
First round of the evening and one meal per person are always free at the Cranky Cat inn ;)
My old group had the opposite problem sometimes. In one campaign, we ended up with an NPC perma-drunk street urchin who was too obnoxious for his own good, and just kinda tagged along with the actual party because it meant he could get a free meal as long as they tolerated him. He was meant to give the characters some hints for the campaign and then get chased off or locked up or otherwise removed, but the party basically instantly adopted him, tried to teach him some manners, got him out of trouble whenever he did some Really Dumb Shit™ like groping a city guard or telling a priestess to go f- herself or barfing on the druid’s familliar. I think our DM was a little frustrated for a while that the one-off character he pulled out of his ass just to deliver a message ended up becoming a full-time job for him to play, despite his efforts to get the character killed or left behind.
Fast forward a couple of (in-game) years and what was once an annoying little shit is now an resposnible adult running his own tavern, in which our party frequently resides. All is well that ends well, I guess ;)
(still, that DM never again brought orphans into the play, just in case.)

Exactly this worked best for me back in the day ;) I’m German and while we have some mandatory English classes, they’re …well … not good. Blunt, boring, 1:1 translations of German sentences, and at least the teacher I had first also had a VERY thick German accent, pronouncing stuff WAY too harsh (“Zis is nott how yoo shoold zound when zpeeking inglish for forks zake!”) so other than learning a few basics, the lessons weren’t at all useful to me.
…but I’ve been an avid fan of the Zelda franchise even back then so I decided to play Ocarina of Time in English after a first German playthrough. Barely understood the dialogue at first, started to recognize certain keywords after a few days, and once I was halfway through the game my brain kinda switched to “English mode” and I actually learned words and grammar in a natural way instead of trying to force myself to understand what the hell a “singular past tense adverb” is.
Long story short, school tried to teach me how to translate German thoughts into English sentences before speaking them out loud. Games, movies, books and music taught me to THINK in English so I wouldn’t need to translate my thoughts first.
The same way I’m currently trying to learn Spanish by the way, which already works way better than any classes ever did.
How old is that data?! France and Ireland should absolutely be red as of now. And don’t get me started on Germany. Can someone please update this horribly outdated map to 2024?
Oh…yeah, that does look a lot closer to it. Thanks for pointing it out ^^ I’m going to edit the post.
