I’m tech literate but I wouldn’t consider myself technical compared to a lot of people here. I struggle with adapting to new concepts. Takes a while to get my head around them.

For instance (no pun intended) when twitter shat the bed and I heard about Mastodon being an alternative. I looked to into it but it seemed a bit overwhelming to figure out.

Fast forward to Reddit shitting the bed and the bits of knowledge learned from Mastodon helped me in converting to Lemmy.

I’m mid 40’s and it’s really frustrating that I can’t figure things out like I could in my teens and 20’s.

If it’s trying emulate a human then it’s spot on. I suck at maths.

Yep, infuriating. It just happened with me. Googled something, followed a link to a website. I couldn’t see images on forum lthread there without registering. So I register, that of course takes me to the home page on the forum instead.

Please don’t federate with Meta. You can guarantee they’ll ruin all that is good about the fediverse.

I think it really depends how big the fediverse becomes. If it becomes popular enough that Meta are missing out on that rich, creamy data mining then you bet they’ll do what ever they can to destroy other instances and the fediverse in general.

I’m using Connect for Lemmy. Prefer it over Jerboa overall but I’m unable to add more than one account the moment.

Is there an official community for Connect for Lemmy?

I’m trying out Jerboa but it keeps telling me I’m not logged in every time I try to do something.

Anyone else having this issue?
