    This is a Harlequin Golf. A limited number of these were produced, but they actually did come this way from the factory with the different multicolored body panels.

    There used to be one running around a few towns over from me a couple of years ago, but I haven’t seen it for a while.

      In the motherland, they only sold the Harlekin Polo. I always liked the silly idea and am glad that after 20 years of white, silver and black cars on the streets, some colours have finally returned.

      There’s a VW like this in my neighborhood in West Philly. It’s a wagon version which is pretty sick in person

      last time i’ve seen one was 8 or so years ago, one of the guys in our neighborhood drove it. but i haven’t seen it since then. must have broken down like most german cars nowadays.

      Some backstory: there were display cars like this to show all the possible colours on the golf (or polo?) at the time. People liked it so much they wanted to buy it and VW decided to sell them.
