I have automatic updates through a watchtower fork, so I just leave it alone until it breaks, then I go to the project site to see what changed. This has happened maybe twice in the last couple years.

News@lemmy.world•Trump says one of the two West Virginia National Guard members shot by Afghan national has died
21·3 hours agoIf it was ICE I’d agree with you. But the national guard isn’t really doing anything on these deployments. Trump says “I AM DEPLOYING THE NATIONAL GUARD!!!” and so they go, they stand around for a bit, and then they go home.

3·5 hours agoConsistency? Nvidia does the exact same thing, so yeah I guess that’s consistent. That reliable numeric with the Nvidia GeForce Titan, Nvidia Titan, and Nvidia Titan RTX (yes those are all very different cards).
And don’t even get me started on the workstation Quadro card naming, with the Quadro RTX 4000, RTX A4000, RTX 4000 (Ada generation), and RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell.
If both drives exhibit the behavior, I’d suspect the drive controller.
I mean, if you’ve got spares, load one up and find out.

Okay then you don’t want to organize them, you want an interface. Chuck all the pictures in a folder, and use something like darktable to review and edit them, you can search by tag, filter by metadata, all that fun stuff.

6·2 days agoIt runs software that’s significantly cheaper–like tens of thousands of dollars a year–for a desktop licence, but it needs a whole bunch of hardware resources. I assure you, it’s justified.

Sounds perfect to me. You thoroughly tested and eliminated every variable on your side before pointing fingers. Network techs hate it when someone starts blaming “the network” when it’s something stupid like a damaged cable behind the user’s desk.
